The Samsung Galaxy S7 Active is still one of the top sellers on the market, and this is particularly amazing considering it’s an AT&T exclusive. While it’s only been out for a couple of months now, we’re already hearing a lot about the 2017 launch of the Galaxy S8 Active. With Samsung’s testament of improving on what is already a near perfect smartphone, the next generation Active looks to be better than ever.
We’re already hearing that Samsung intends on launching the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active earlier than expected. Rumors consistent on what the South Korean tech giant is trying to achieve suggests we’ll see the next installment in the Active series in June rather than July. This bodes well for consumers who will be happy to know that Samsung is looking to launch all of their 2017 flagships earlier than previous years.
Sammy has been working on refining their production process which means less delays and faster launch. The Galaxy S8 and S8 Edge were expected to launch sometime in March is now being rumored to debut at the Consumer Electronics Show in January which would likely set up a worldwide launch late January to early February. While this has yet to be confirmed, leaks out of South Korea and current rumors suggests it’ll be a reality before you know it.
The release date of the S8 Active may even be sooner than June, but a summer release is the most likely. Typically, we see the new Active a few months after the flagship and this won’t change in 2017. AT&T will once again retain the rights to the series despite early rumors suggesting that Verizon, Sprint, and TMobile are all making a push at the S8 Active.
With a price that will come in just under $800 for the full price, and for those looking for a no money down option there’s AT&T Next. Expect to shell out around $28 per month for a period of 30 months, but again, no money other than the sales tax on the day of purchase.
