The Samsung Galaxy S Active series is one of the most sought after smartphones of the year, and since its launch a few years back the series has been made up of some of the most loyal fans. The AT&T exclusive will remain so once again as we get ready for the upcoming release of the next installment of the Galaxy S Active series.
The next installment, the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active will debut during the summer of 2017. Shortly after the Galaxy S8, the Active series was created for those looking for a bit more rugged. Offering one of the most durable surrounds we’ve seen in a smartphone to date while combining much of what the Galaxy S series offers, this is setting up to be one amazing launch.
Based on some of the most prevalent rumors and leaks out of South Korea, the following summarizes the Top 5 Features we’re hearing will be seen in the Galaxy S8 Active.
Eye Sensing Technology
Samsung surprised everyone except those of us who knew it was coming with they released the Galaxy Note 7 which featured eye sensing technology. Missing the mark with the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Active, we’re hearing all variants of the Galaxy S8 including the Active will debut with an iris scanner. The eye scanner makes securing your new phone so much better, and those mobile payment options such as Samsung Pay and Google Pay will be much more secure.
Dual Micro SD Card Slots
Consumers need memory, and we’re finally hearing that Sammy will be bringing the house with not just one, but two micro SD Card slots. Coupled with 32GB of internal memory, you can only imagine what more than 300GB of memory will do for you. We’re talking about endless apps being downloaded, pictures, video, and anything you can imagine storing right on your handheld.
Although a new foldable design has been rumored in the Galaxy S8 Active, we highly doubt this feature will become a reality. Back in 2013, Samsung publicly stated that a foldable smartphone will become one of their newest flagships, but there has been no confirmation as to which series will see it, or if we’ll see a new Samsung smartphone in the not so distant future.
Although, we highly doubt it will make its way to the Galaxy S Active series, a foldable concept sounds quite intriguing. We’re talking about two independent screens that will allow the user to watch and play at the same time and will bring a whole new meaning to entertainment and productivity at the same time.
Samsung smartphones offer some of the best visuals we’ve seen to date, but it’s only a matter of time before we see the next gen smartphones integrate 4K visuals. While much of today’s viewing technology looking to a higher resolution, it wouldn’t surprise us if we see all of Samsung’s 2017 flagships offer a true UHD, 4K resolution.
Corning Gorilla Glass 5
With the debut of the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active we fully expect to see the next generation of Gorilla Glass. What we’re hearing is a nearly indestructible screen which will give you the most secure investment which will do virtually everything. Each year we see an upgraded version, and the time has finally come where we’re see all-around stability.
For now, we’ll keep you updated on what looks to be yet another AT&T exclusive with the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active during the summer of 2017.
